Founded in 2017, Tools for Show is under development by an interdisciplinary team based at the New Museum NY incubator, NewInc.

 


Bika Rebek
Founder, CEO

While working at The Met as an exhibition designer, Bika realized that top museums could benefit from new technology workflows in their exhibition making process. In 2017 she founded Tools for Show to help other museum professionals make their work more efficient, inclusive and joyful.

Based in New York City and Vienna, she is a member at NEW INC, the first museum-led incubator, developing a practice focused on exhibition design and museum studies, and serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia GSAPP teaching Architectural Representation and a seminar on Exhibition Design.



Lucia Tahan
Co-founder, CTO, Product Design

Lucia  is an architectural designer and a product designer based in New York and Berlin. Her work blends methodologies from digital and cultural disciplines with architecture systems and it has been featured at MAXXI Museum in Rome, Lisbon Architecture Triennale and Venice Biennale, among others. She holds a Diploma in Architecture from ETSAM/Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and studied at Technische Universität Berlin (Germany) and Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem (Israel), where she also received training in interaction design.





Damjan Minovski
Technical Advisor

Damjan studied architecture at the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Masterclass Wolf D. Prix), receiving his diploma in 2011.
Since his graduation in 2011 he has worked as freelance visual artist, producing architectural visualizations for renowned architecture offices like Asymptote Architecture and Coop Himmelblau. Since 2012 he is part of the architecture collaborative SeMF, focusing on Mapping and Fabrication in the context of architecture, and since 2013 part of the FWF Artistic Research Project 'GrAB' at the University of Applied Arts.

Joachim Hackl
Researcher

Joachim is an architectural designer and researcher based in New York. His research circles around play and leisure activities and their relation to the body, design processes and mechanisms of control as well as surveillance technologies.
He received a MSc in Critical, Curatorial, and Conceptual Practices in Architecture from Columbia University GSAPP and holds a Diploma in Architecture from Vienna University of Technology.
Mansimran Singh
Technical Advisor

Mansimran is a Software Engineer at Weav Music, Inc. working on the next iteration of recorded music, allowing it to adapt by recomposing in real-time. Previously, he built Refugee Aid App, the largest resource tracking and management application for NGOs to e ciently provide in the ongoing refugee crisis.
Mansimran has consulted for Quintessentially Travel Group, built prototypes for UK based food delivery app (Delivered), and been the Director of Technology for Terry Mardi Group of companies. He has worked on projects ranging from gesture controlled drones to audio steganography.
